Ms. Praveena Velusamy

Ms. Praveena Velusamy is currently a Research Scholar at the University College of Engineering, BIT Campus, Tiruchirappalli, under Anna University. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Applications from the prestigious Coimbatore Institute of Technology and is also a UGC-NET qualified Assistant Professor.Her areas of expertise include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Image Processing, Data Science, Cloud Computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Her research focuses on developing practical AI-driven solutions to address real-world challenges, and she has contributed to several publications and research works in the domains of machine learning and IoT.Ms. Praveena is also the Principal Investigator of a funded research project supported by the Chief Minister’s Research Grant (CMRG), Government of Tamil Nadu, titled “IoT-Based Algae Detection and Predictive Analytics for Municipal Water Tanks Towards Sustainable Water Management with special reference to Tiruchirappalli District.” The project aims to develop an IoT-enabled smart system to monitor algae growth and analyze water quality parameters for sustainable water management.Professionally, she is associated with the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) as a Cloud Trainer, where she trains students and aspiring professionals in industry-relevant cloud computing technologies. She is also an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, demonstrating her expertise in designing scalable and efficient cloud-based systems.She is passionate about knowledge sharing, mentoring, and public speaking, and has delivered several talks and workshops, including a session in the World Record Webinar Series titled “Unravelling the Mysteries in Machine Learning: From Theory to Application.”
