Dr. Sathish Kumar Palaniappan, is currently working as a Research Scientist (Specialist 2) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand. He finished his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical stream) at University College of Engineering Villupuram (A constituent college of Anna University, Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India, in the year 2012. He received his Master of Engineering from Kongu Engineering College in Perundurai, Tamil Nadu, India, which he finished in the year 2014 with distinction in the stream of CAD/CAM. He also finished his PhD studies in the Department of Mining Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, West Bengal, India in the year 2021. He worked as Research Associate in the Ground Stability Research Laboratory of Mining Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, West Bengal, India and he also worked as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Manufacturing, Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Saveetha School of Engineering, SIMATS University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His research interests include polymer nanocomposites/composites; polymer blends and bio-materials; mechanical behavior of materials; thin film coating; tribology; bio-degradable polymers; machining characteristics of ceramics and polymer composites; natural and synthetic polymers; multi-functional composite materials and nanomaterials; natural fiber reinforced composites; cutting bits and surface modifications. He is having 1 published Indian patent and more than 65 research papers in international/national journals and 32 book chapters with reputed publishers. He also acts as a reviewer for more than 25 international journals. Based on google scholar, the number of citations amounts to 1100+ and his present H-index is 17 with i10-Index of 31.
